Al morueco de los comienzos
lo impulsa la estrella roja
que relumbra en sus ojos de diamante
y se refleja en sus cuernos de heliotropo,
sus pesuñas de hierro.
Guarda el fuego cardinal del anhelo
y sobre su cabeza
giran el día y la noche
la noche y el día
en el baile simétrico
del tiempo.

Spring comes, the season of hope as the days grow brighter and the flowers bloom. Aries first sign of the zodiac, characterized as a bold, energetic, fire sign ruled by Mars, action and energy unafraid of conflict, honest, direct willing to take risks
Reading The Last of the Lions, the autobiography of Clarence Thomas, I am struck that the characteristics of Aries (bold, energetic, active, unafraid of conflict, honest, direct, willing to take risks) so informed Martin Luther King Jr., Clarence Thomas, and the many others as they organized the Jobs and Freedom March on Washington August 28, 1963. Those traits of Aries were needed to bring 250,000 people to the capital but the reason for their coming needed Martin Luther King Jr. telling of his dream of love and justice and democracy which entered the annals of the world as one of the most luminous utterances of the human heart and tongue. That was 187 years after the founding of the nation. Martin Luther King Jr. was murdered five years later.
Now two-hundred-fifty years after the United States of America declared independence from the king of England to found a democracy, however crippled by the genocide of indigenous people, the abominable institution of slavery, and the economics of conquest in which greed is made a virtue, after a long hard struggle to create a more true democracy, the nation has fallen into full fascism. An arrogant despot who would be king, unprincipled, corrupt, a liar and criminal who on a whim has started a war that threatens the world and the fascist Republican Party rule the nation.
We must avail our selves of the traits of Aries to come out in massive numbers on Sunday March 28 to say No kings, no fascism, no war. Let us come together in the streets in our full power, in peace — love must prevail.

Al leer «El último de los leones», la autobiografía de Clarence Thomas, noto que las características de Aries (audaz, enérgico, activo, sin miedo al conflicto, honesto, directo, dispuesto a correr riesgos) informaran tanto a Martin Luther King Jr., Clarence Thomas y a los muchos otros en organizar la Marcha por el Trabajo y la Libertad en Washington el 28 de agosto de 1963.
