Que Espíritu brote 
lenguas de llama 
que alumbren el entender,
enciendan el corazón a amar 
y nos den palabras 
para clamar por justicia 
arraigada en la compasión.

Cuando chamaco y monaguillo en la catedral de San Patricio, una de mis favoritas misas era la de Pentecostés celebrando la llegada del Espíritu en forma de lenguas de fuego de la inspiración divina y el hablar a los discípulos del nazareno. Hace ya muchos años que soy renacido pagano pero algunas de las tradiciones de la iglesia mantienen su verdad espiritual. Y la de Pentecostés, la inspiración divina arraigada en el amor y la justicia, como en la Teología de la Liberación, siempre será verídica.

 

Ahora nos enfrentamos a un cristofascismo: en la Iglesia católica, el del Opus Dei y su índole. Leonard Leo —de quien desde hace mucho tiempo se dice que es miembro del Opus Dei— se ha dedicado, desde hace al menos treinta años, a convertir al poder judicial de los Estados Unidos ultraderechista y fascista.

En la protestante, tenemos los nacionalistas cristianos — un tipo de fundamentalistas evangélicos obsesionados con las fantasías del Apocalipsis — quienes quieren convertir la nación en una teocracia y que violan todas las enseñanzas de Yeshúa (Jesús) de Nazaret a quien pretenden venerar. Son una fuerza cultural y política desde el final de los 70as detrás del fascismo que nos gobierna. Un gran número de nacionalistas cristianos forman parte de la administración de Trump; entre ellos el Secretario de Defensa Pete Hegseth —un supuesto criminal de guerra—, quien oró públicamente por las fuerzas armadas de los Estados Unidos con estas palabras: «Rompe los dientes de los impíos. Ante el estallido de tu ira, haz que el mal perezca. Que sus toros desciendan al matadero, pues ha llegado su día: el tiempo de su castigo. Derrama tu ira sobre aquellos que traman vanidades y disípalos como la paja ante el viento», oró Hegseth. «Concédeles sabiduría en cada decisión, entereza para la prueba que tienen por delante, una unidad inquebrantable y una violencia de acción abrumadora contra aquellos que no merecen piedad alguna. Preserva sus vidas, afila su determinación y permite que la justicia se ejecute con celeridad y sin remordimientos, para que el mal sea repelido y las almas perversas sean entregadas a la condenación eterna que les ha sido preparada».

Alguien ha dicho que los nacionalistas cristianos "andan con escrituras en la boca y el corazón lleno de odio".

When I was a kid and altar boy at St. Patrick Cathedral, one of my favorite masses to serve was that of Pentecost celebrating the coming of the Spirit in the form of tongues of flame of divine inspiration and speech to the Nazarene’s disciples. It has been many years now that I have been a born-again pagan, but some of the traditions of the church keep their spiritual truth. And that of Pentecost, divine inspiration grounded in love and justice, as in Liberation Theology, will always be true. 

Now we are faced with a Christo-fascism, in the Catholic church that of Opus Dei and its ilk. Leonard Leo, long said to be a member of Opus Dei, has for at least 30 years, set himself to making the U.S. judiciary ultra-rightist, fascist.

In the Protestant, there are the Christian Nationalists, a type of Evangelical Fundamentalists obsessed with the fantasies of Revelations who would turn the nation into a theocracy and who violate every teaching of Yeshua (Jesus) of Nazareth and profess to venerate him. They are a cultural and political force since the 70s behind the fascism that governs us. A great many Christian Nationalist are in the Trump administration, among them Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, an alleged war criminal, who prayed in public for the U.S. military, “Break the teeth of the ungodly. By the blast of your anger, let the evil perish. Let their bulls go down to slaughter for their day has come, the time of their punishment. Pour out your wrath upon those who plot vain things and blow them away like chaff before the wind,” Hegseth prayed. “Give them wisdom in every decision, endurance for the trial ahead, unbreakable unity, and overwhelming violence of action against those who deserve no mercy. Preserve their lives, sharpen their resolve, and let justice be executed swiftly and without remorse that evil may be driven back and wicked souls delivered to the eternal damnation prepared for them.”

Someone has said that Christian Nationalists "walk around with a mouth full of scripture and a heart full of hate."
