                        Piscis

El par de peces nada
entre cristales de amatistas,
entre peñas de heliotropo —
        la luz de Júpiter les llega
            como un reflejo en estaño;
Neptuno perezosamente los vigila.
Si vadeas en las aguas inconstantes,
los verás a tus pies
nadar como imágenes de sueños,
            pacíficos,
                            benévolos.

                Pisces

The pair of fish swim
among amethyst crystals,
among boulders of bloodstone —
        the light of Jupiter comes to them
---            like reflections on tin;
Neptune lazily watches.
If you wade in the inconstant water,
you will see them at your feet
swimming like the images of dreams,
            peaceful,
                            kind.

It is said that Pisces are compassionate yet we live cruel times, ruled by Neptune, planet of creativity though the arts and sciences are embattled, and dreams, though we are living a nightmare. What to do?

St. Valentine's Day

 

Por alguna razón histórica, mítica, costumbrista este día se ha designado Día del amor, de la amistad en el cual se hacen declaraciones de afecto. Amor — ese sentimiento humano (arraigado en impulso animal mamífero) que le atribuimos al corazón, ese órgano que late y late incesablemente hasta que una vez cese por completo poniendo el punto final a una vida. Pobre órgano tan pequeño que de tan grande tarea se encargue. 

Tontería es designar un día del año para expresar tanto. Pero aquí está el día y vivimos tiempos oscuros de tan cruel fascismo que no sería por demás afirmar el amor. Es la raís de nuestra Amada Comunidad, visión de tod@s los grandes maestr@s, que tenemos que ser, crear, extender por el mundo entero. Unámonos y hagamos nuestra revolución de amor con coraje y un amor feróz y alegría.

For some reason historical, mythic, traditionalist, this day has been designated as the day of love, of friendship on which are made declarations of affection. Love — that human sentiment (rooted in a mammalian animal impulse) which we attribute to the heart, that organ that beats and beats until sometime it stops completely putting a final point to a life. Poor organ so small to carry such a great task. 

Foolishness to designate one day of the year to express so much. But here is the day and we live in dark times of such cruel fascism that it would not be pointless to affirm love. It is the root of our Beloved Community, the vision of all the great teachers, which we have to be, create, extend throughout the entire world. Let us unite and make our revolution of love with courage and fierce love and joy.

May it lick our ears in sleep
that we may dream of singing.

Signo de la buena fortuna,
una serpiente arco iris se muerde la cola 
y rodea la luna llena. 
Que nos lama los oídos en el dormir
para que soñemos en cantar.
