full moon: Balm of Light

 

 
Todos llevamos una herida, más o menos grande, que pesa en el corazón y nos hace humanos, pero cuando comienzo mis días leyenda las noticias de inundaciones e incendios, guerras, matanzas y la política de los fascistas (no sé que otra cosa llamarles) con su crueldad hacia los pobres, las mujeres, gente de variación de género, gente de minorías étnicas y raciales y un deprecio total por la Tierra, me pesa el corazón con una mixtura de dolor, miedo y furia.
 
Pero es verano, las flores están en pleno florecer y la luna se ha llenado de luz y la hermosura de la Tierra y los cielos es una alegría fundamental que trae alivio al corazón. 
 
Y con esto, valor y aliento para seguir la lucha por la Tierra, la justicia, la paz.

    Bálsamo de luz
 
 
Es curandera la luna 
con su morral lleno
de sus bálsamos de luz
fragantes a hierbas, a fresa
a romero, a menta, a rosa,
a cieno y hongo, a río y mar.
Alivia con su tierna luz  

al malherido corazón.

All of us have a wound, greater or lesser, that weighs in the heart and makes us human, but when I start my days with reading the news of floods and wildfires, wars, mass shootings, and the politics of the fascists (I know not what else to call them) with their cruelty toward the poor, women, folk of gender variance, folk of ethnic and racial minorities, and total disregard for the Earth, my heart is made heavy with a mixture of pain, fear, and rage.
 
But it is summer, flowers are in full bloom, and the moon has grown full with light, and the beauty of the Earth and the heavens is a fundamental joy that brings healing to the heart.
 
And with this, courage and strength to continue the struggle for the Earth, justice, peace.

            Balm of Light
 
 
The full moon is a healer
with her bag full
of her salves of light
fragrant of herbs, strawberry,
rosemary, mint, rose,
silt & fungi, river & sea.
She eases with her tender light 
the grievously wounded heart.
