full moon: Reading the Sonnets by Moonlight

-

Reading the Sonnets by Moonlight

Trying for fit
the verses of the glover's son,
gloves of kid or silk
to caress the moon
or boar skin gloves
to catch a comet in its flight,
the moon, cold & indifferent to touch,
rises to comfort or to mock
those vagaries of the heart
that we call love.

Good details and contrast between dark shadows and white areas. You may know the work of the Greek-Italian surrealist artist Giorgio de Chirico, much of whose work you can browse at wahooart.com. This one, http://EN.WahooArt.com/A55A04/w.nsf/OPRA/BRUE-8EWHDW, has the same feel as your drawings.
