Gather for the next Thrive Sunday on 11/5

Join Thrive East Bay on Sunday, November 5th for Revering the Mystery, Healing our Relations with guest speaker & healer Carla M. Pérez, guest poet & elder Rafael Jesüs González, guest artist & singer Far I Shields, and the heart-opening Thrive Choir.

As we work to transform the root causes of rising social injustices and climate destabilization, how can we be guided by a deeper relationship with the Mystery and bring healing to the center of our movements for collective liberation?

Guest SpeakerCarla M. Pérez is a dedicated mother and community organizer of Native Mezo American and Spanish heritage residing in Oakland, California. She has worked on issues of social & environmental justice, sustainable agriculture and permaculture with community groups from Yucatán, Mexico to Bay Area environmental justice communities including Richmond, East Oakland and Southeast San Francisco. Carla joined Movement Generation in 2007 as a Planning Committee member and co-founder of the Justice & Ecology Project. Today, as a member of the MG collective, Carla leads MG’s Resiliency and Permaculture work, including the Earth Skills Training Program. She is also the founder of the Healing Clinic Collective, an autonomous project housed within MG which offers free traditional, non-industrial healing to some of the most vulnerable populations in the Bay Area. Carla actively organizes in her neighborhood to build neighborhood relationships and security and fight gentrification, as well as within her spiritual community. Carla’s hard work is done in dedication to her family and to the Spirit of Creation.
