En el año 336 E.C., el nacimiento de Yeshua (Jesús en griego) de Nazaret se fijó el 25 de diciembre para que coincidiera con la fiesta romana del solsticio de invierno de Sol Invictus.
Yeshua, un joven rabino revolucionario, tomó los más altos valores judíos del amor (ahava), la compasión (rachamim) y la justicia (tzedek) y los hizo primarios para caracterizar a Yahvé, su dios patriarcal, justiciero y guerrero de los israelitas, como padre cariñoso, extendiéndolo más allá de Israel a toda la humanidad.
La religión que se formó de Yeshua y sus enseñanzas llegó a llamarse "cristianismo" (de la raíz griega que significa "ungido"). En sus 2025 años de existencia, el cristianismo se ha manifestado de innumerables maneras, muchas de ellas fieles a las enseñanzas de Yeshua basadas en el amor, como la Teología de la Liberación actual, y otras tantas de maneras condenables, crueles e intolerantes que violan por completo las enseñanzas de Yeshua, tal como el cristo-fascismo actual (Opus Dei y Nacionalismo Cristiano*).
La revolución de Yeshua aún está por cumplirse. Cualquiera que sea tu religión (o ninguna), que seas parte de Nuestra Amada Comunidad, que seas y hagas nuestra revolución. Bendiciones.
In 336 CE., the birth of Yeshua (Jesus in Greek) of Nazareth was set on December 25 to coincide with the Roman winter solstice festival of Sol Invictus.
Yeshua, a young revolutionary rabbi, took the highest Jewish values of love (ahava), compassion (rachamim), and justice (tzedek) and made them primary in characterizing Yahweh his patriarchal, juridical, war god of the Israelites as caring father, which he took beyond Israel to all of humanity.
The religion that formed from Yeshua and his teaching came to be called “Christianity” (from the root Greek word for “anointed.”) In the 2,025 years of its existence, Christianity has manifested itself in a myriad ways, many adhering well to Yeshua’s love-based teachings such as the modern day Liberation Theology, and just as many in reprehensible ways, cruel and intolerant, that violate all of Yeshua’s teachings such as today’s Christofascism (Opus Dei and Christian Nationalism.)
Yeshua’s revolution is yet to be made. Whatever your religion (or none) may you be part of Our Beloved Community, be and make our revolution. Bless.
