                Géminis

Los gemelos,
él con pulsera de esmeraldas,
ella con pulsera de perlas,
arrullan en sus brazos
        al aire inconstante
y en sus manos llevan
puños de azogue inquieto.
Miden la dualidad
y en su intelecto brillan
las luces lejanas de Mercurio.

he with a bracelet of emeralds,
she with a bracelet of pearls,
rock in their arms
        the inconstant air
& carry in their hands
fistfuls of restless quicksilver.
They measure duality
& in their intellect shine
the faraway lights of Mercury.

It is said that the characteristics of Gemini are being adaptable, curious, intelligent, highly communicative; gentle, affectionate. These we must certainly cultivate if we are to truly be and make our revolution. But it is also said that the negative aspects of Gemini are inconsistency, emotional detachment, and a tendency to avoid conflict which will not serve us in confronting the fascists who are motivated by fear, suspicion, hate of the other, and a lack of compassion that amounts to cruelty.

Se dice que las características de Géminis son la adaptabilidad, la curiosidad, la inteligencia, una gran capacidad para comunicar, gentileza y afecto. Sin duda, debemos cultivar estos rasgos si queremos verdaderamente ser y hacer nuestra revolución. Pero también se dice que los aspectos negativos de Géminis son la inconstancia, el distanciamiento emocional y una tendencia a evitar los conflictos; actitudes que no nos servirán en enfrentarnos a los fascistas, motivados por el miedo, la desconfianza, el odio hacia el otro y una falta de compasión que raya en la crueldad.
