Sagitario
El arquero apunta a Júpiter,
planeta de tantas lunas,
cuya luz se refleja en sus ancas,
y en la punta de topacio de su saeta
brota la llama inconstante del anhelo.
En cadena de estaño
lleva pectoral de turquesa
bruñida de ensueños
y apunta
y apunta
y anhela herir al cielo.

whose light reflects on his haunches,
and on the topaz point of his arrow
bursts the inconstant flame of his desire.
On a chain of tin
he wears a medallion of turquoise
polished by dreams
and he points
and he points
and desires to wound the sky.

Sagitario, el arquero, es el centauro Chiron de las manos sabias, primeros instrumentos del sanar, sanador herido mentor de Asclepio, Dios de la Medicina, invocado por Hipócrates en su juramento, cuyo bastón entrelazado por una serpiente es símbolo de la medicina (aunque, quizás significativo, en los Estados Unidos el símbolo popular de la medicina es el caduceo, la vara de Mercurio, dios del comercio, el robo y la mentira.)
Ahora ¿qué tan seguido nos toca nuestro doctor(a)? Muchos de nuestros sanadores(as) están fuera de contacto. Seguido vemos solamente sus imágenes trasmitidas a través de Zoom. Tan poco tiempo tienen que los vemos sólo brevemente, y much@s carecen de compasión, mera raíz de la sanación y la medicina. Nuestro sistema de salud está tan roto, tan preocupado por las ganancias que por la salud, tan inaccesible, que muchas personas consultan chatbots de inteligencia artificial en su aflicción. Y nuestra humanidad, nuestros corazones, nuestras almas corren grave peligro.
Sagitario el arquero es Quirón el curandero herido. Las características del signo son el optimismo, el entusiasmo, adoptabilidad, flexibilidad, un profundo respeto a la verdad necesarios para hacernos ambos guerrer@s y sanadores(as). Tod@s estamos herid@s y de esa herida profunda tenemos que hacernos curander@s de sí mismos y curander@s de un@ al otr@. Para eso, Quirón, y nosotr@s, tenemos que poner al lado el arco y las flechas y alzar la balanza de la justicia, usar toda medicina que sepamos para sanarnos, sanar a la Tierra y hacer la paz. Nuestra revolución tiene que ser una de amor. Para traer la Edad del Sanador, la lucha no es de armas sino de acción no violenta. Requiere coraje y valor.
Para nosotros en los EE.UU que hemos perdido tantos de nuestros valores y nos encontramos en un estado fascista, el miércoles noviembre 12 de 2025, el centavo, una de las primeras monedas de la nación por primera vez acuñada en 1787, seis años antes de que la Casa de la Moneda misma se haya establecido, después de 230 años, ha dejado de acuñarse.
Sagitarrius, the archer, is the centaur Chiron of the wise hands, first instruments of healing, wounded healer mentor of Asclepius, God of Medicine, invoked by Hippocrates in his oath, whose snaked-twined staff is the symbol of medicine (though, perhaps telling, in the United States the popular symbol of medicine is the caduceus, wand of Mercury the god of commerce, thievery, and lying.)
Now, how often does our doctor touch us? Many of our healers are out of touch. We often see only their images transmitted through Zoom. They have become so pressed for time we see them but briefly, and many are lacking in compassion, the very root of healing and medicine. So broken is our health system, so concerned with profits over healing, so unaffordable, that many folks consult Artificial Intelligence chatbot in their distress. And our humanity, our hearts, our souls are at grave risk.
Sagittarius the Archer is Chiron the wounded healer. The sign’s characteristics are optimism, enthusiasm, adaptability, flexibility, a deep regard for truth needed to make us both warriors and healers. We are all wounded and from that deep wound we have to become healers, healers of ourselves and healers of one another. For that, Chiron, and we, have to lay aside arch and arrows and raise the scales of justice, use all medicines that we know to cure ourselves, heal the Earth, and make peace. Our revolution must be one of love. To bring the Age of the Healer, the struggle is not with arms but with nonviolent action. It requires courage and value.
For us in the U.S. of A. who have lost so many of our values and find ourselves in a fascist state, on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 the penny, one of the nation’s first coins, first minted in 1787, six years before the Mint itself was established, after 230 years has stopped being minted. To mark its demise, this whim of a poem:
